Our Staff
Ward Williams–Executive Director (Ward@VineyardFamilyServices.org)
Although Ward loves living in the Birmingham area, he will always consider himself a native Texan. Ward is married to a wonderful woman named Suzanne and has three kids that he loves. Besides keeping busy with family life, he loves to converse with others and learn about God, fatherhood, family, politics, sports, and history.
Ward holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Texas State University in Speech Communications. He is also the current facilitator for our Fatherhood Programs. Ward has worked with students and families continually since 1992. He has a strong passion and desire to see the fathers that are served through VFS finally succeed in life and choose to become the fathers and men they truly desire and know that they can be for their family’s legacy. The passion and desire that has propelled this grassroots organization from its inception in 2006, into a state-funded agency, stems from his own very personal struggle with issues he faced growing up in a father-absent household.
Ward is available for speaking engagements or can provide your agency with a weekend seminar targeting issues relevant to men, particularly fathers. If you desire to schedule a speaking engagement or weekend seminar, please contact Ward at (205) 533-7852 or email him at the address listed above.
Megan Pickering–Chief Operating Officer/Program Director (Megan@VineyardFamilyServices.org)
Megan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from John Brown University and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Alabama–Birmingham. It is her view that in order to truly minister to the very great needs of a child, they must have the stability and nurturing found in emotionally healthy parents. It is through this mindset that she assists in creating agency programming that will meet these needs of families within our community.
